The Sweet Wait: A Maternity Photoshoot in Cascais

When Margarida and Manuel tied the knot in 2021, in a year that only lacked the classic “epic” to describe it, nobody imagined that one of the greatest adventures was still to come. (And yes, the wedding was so incredible that it deserves a sneak peek around here!)

Luckily, I maintained a friendship with this amazing couple, so when Margarida found out she was pregnant, it was like the universe gave me the green light to be the official photographer of this exciting new phase.

We decided that the perfect setting to capture this moment would be the stunning Marechal Carmona Garden in Cascais. If you haven’t been, think lush green gardens, soft grass, and some architectural structures that look like they’re straight out of a fairy tale. Add a golden sunset, and voilà, instant magic!

So, what’s essential for a mom-to-be to rock a maternity photoshoot? Well, besides the basics – a beautiful bump and a radiant smile – Margarida knew that comfort was key. She opted for a light, flowing dress that made her feel as free as a butterfly (seriously, even the butterflies seemed to envy her elegance!).

Of course, a personal touch couldn’t be missing. Manuel brought along a children’s book that he loved as a child, and Margarida held it with such tenderness that it was impossible not to smile along. And so, amidst laughter, hugs, and the promise of future adventures, we captured moments that will be treasures for a lifetime.

Sometimes, in the hustle and bustle of everyday life, we forget how magical this waiting period is, but being with Margarida and Manuel, in such a breathtaking setting like Marechal Carmona Garden, was a vivid reminder that every moment is precious.
